I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following committee appointments for introduction and adoption under suspension of the rules.

 

 

TASK FORCE ON EQUITY IN MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT

 

ALD. ARVINA MARTIN, District 11 - appoint to the position of Alder and Transit and Parking Commission (TPC) Member.

TERM EXPIRES WITH TERM ON TPC: 4-16-2019

 

FERNANDO CANO OSPINA (18th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Alcohol License Review Committee (ALRC) Member.

TERM EXPIRES WITH TERM ON ALRC: 4-16-2019

 

YOREL LASHLEY (6th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Madison Arts Commission (MAC) Member.

TERM EXPIRES WITH TERM ON MAC: 4-30-2018

 

CAITLIN BADSING (12th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) Member.

TERM EXPIRES WITH TERM ON EOC: 4-21-2020

 

SYED MUSTAJAB ABBAS (12th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Public Safety Review Committee (PSRC) Member.

TERM EXPIRES WITH TERM ON PSRC: 4-30-2020

 

KAREN L. REECE (14th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Hip-Hop Community Organization Representative. Ms. Reece is the president of Urban Community Arts Network (UCAN) whose mission is, “To empower and unify youth and adults through urban arts, specifically Hip-Hop.” She currently works as a researcher with Nehemiah Center for Urban Leadership Development.

 

JALEN MCCULLOUGH (14th A.D.) - appoint to the position of College Student Member. Mr. McCullough is a Madison College student, a musician and is currently working as an intern with the Media Academy at the Madison Public Library.

 

BRENNAN A. HAELIG (4th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Music/Entertainment Promoter. Mr. Haelig is the owner/artist manager/studio manager for Strange Oasis Entertainment, LLC - an artist management and concert promotion company.

 

DARWIN R. SAMPSON (18th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Live Music Business Owner. Mr. Sampson is the owner/operator of The Frequency.

 

ROBERT (Rob Dz) FRANKLIN (4th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Musician Member. Mr. Franklin is a hip-hop artist, educator and activist. He currently works as a library monitor with the Madison Public Library.
