Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution authorizes the execution of an Underground Electric Easement to the Madison Gas and Electric Company (MG&E) across a portion of City property located at 435 Milky Way. Existing underground electric facilities adjacent to this property will be relocated to this granted easement by MG&E. No City appropriation is required.

Authorizing the execution of an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of property owned by the City of Madison located at 435 Milky Way.

Body

WHEREAS, Madison Gas & Electric Company (“MG&E”) currently has existing underground electric facilities (“Facilities”) located within property adjacent to property owned by the City of Madison at 435 Milky Way, a/k/a Water Tower Well (“City Property”); and

                     

WHEREAS, MG&E is relocating said Facilities to the City Property and has requested an easement for the Facilities (see map attached as Exhibit A); and

 

WHEREAS, City of Madison Engineering and Real Estate staff have reviewed and approve of the granting of said easement.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company within property owned by the City at 435 Milky Way, a/k/a water Tower Well #225, legally described as follows:

 

A strip of land, ten (10) feet in width, located in Outlot 44, North Addition to Grandview Commons, lying in part of the part of the SE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 2, T7N, R10E, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, the centerline of said strip being more particularly described as follows:

 

The right-of-way shall be located five (5) feet on the right side and five (5) feet on the left side of the centerline of Permittee’s facilities as constructed. The facilities will be located approximately as set forth in the drawing attached hereto as Exhibit A.
