Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution approves the sole source agreement with Peterson Pacific Corporation for the repairs of the Streets Division’s grinder. The total cost of the repairs is estimated to be $30,000, which is sufficiently authorized via the adopted 2017 capital budget in the Streets Division’s Emerald Ash Borer capital program (MUNIS 11008). Funding is provided by GO Borrowing.

Body
WHEREAS, the City’s 2006 Peterson 6700B Horizontal Grinder is no longer operable due to electrical failure. The single circuit board controller is obsolete and no longer available. Wire decay has also been found to be a problem; and
WHEREAS, the repair components include an integrated controller area network (iCAN) and wiring harnesses. Peterson Pacific Corp. will also provide a factory service technician to facilitate the installation of the iCAN and wiring, working with Fleet Service technicians, and
WHEREAS, the Peterson Pacific Corp. quotation for $30,000 includes the components and technical support to repair the machine, and
WHEREAS, the Peterson grinder is an integral piece of equipment supporting the EAB programs accelerating removal process, and
WHEREAS, MGO 4.26(4) requires Common Council approval for the sole sourcing of purchases in excess of $25,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council approves the sole sourcing of components and technical support from Peterson Pacific Corporation to repair the Peterson grinder.
