Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution authorizes the execution of an underground electric easement to Madison Gas and Electrice Company (MG&E). No City appropriation is required. An administrative fee of $500 will be collected by the Economic Development Division and deposited into the agency's general revenue account.

Title

Authorizing the execution of an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of the Yellowstone Greenway located at 37 N. Yellowstone Drive.

Body

WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company (“MG&E”) is upgrading existing underground electric facilities located within the Yellowstone Greenway at 37 N. Yellowstone Drive (see locator map attached as Exhibit A); and

 

WHEREAS, MG&E has discovered that such facilities exist without the benefit of an easement and, therefore, has requested an easement from the City; and 

 

WHEREAS, City of Madison Engineering and Real Estate staff have reviewed and approve of the granting of said easement.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of the Yellowstone Greenway, located at 37 N. Yellowstone Drive, legally described as follows:

 

Eight (2) strips of land, ten (10) feet in width, located in Lot 84, Blue Ridge Addition to Parkwood Hills, and Lot 83, Shenandoah Addition to Parkwood Hills, lying in part of the NE ¼ and NW ¼ of Section 24, &T7N, R8E, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, the centerline of said strips being more particularly described as follows:

 

Strips of land five (5) feet on the right side and five (5) feet on the left side of the centerline of Permittee’s facilities as constructed. The facilities will be located approximately as set forth in the drawing attached hereto as Exhibit B and dated April 17, 2017.
