Fiscal Note

The resolution amends the adopted 2017 capital budget by authorizing a net-neutral transfer of existing budget authority across major programs within the Engineering-Bicycle & Pedestrian budget. $200,000 of general obligation borrowing authority would be transferred from the Safe Routes Grants Program major to the Sidewalk Program major. The funding is requested as an adjustment to accomodate for the sidewalk repair schedule in Aldermanic Districts 15 and 17 in 2017.

Title

Amending the 2017 Bicycle and Pedestrian Capital Budget to transfer $200,000 of existing GO borrowing authority between major programs Safe Routes Grants Program to Sidewalk Program.

Body

Engineering has scheduled the repair of sidewalks in Aldermanic Districts 15 and 17 for 2017.  Additional funds are needed to complete all of the required repairs under the budget item Sidewalk Program.  The budget item Safe Routes Grants provides funding for installation of new sidewalks on certain street reconstruction projects.  Less than expected new sidewalks are being installed in 2017 and funds are available for transfer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the 2017 Engineering-Bicycle & Pedestrian budget is hereby amended to transfer $200,000 of general obligation borrowing funding from the Safe Routes Grants Program to the Sidewalk Program.
