Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution authorizes a contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs for the Fire Department to provide firefighting services to the William S. Middleton Veterans Hospital. The one-year contract is effective April 1, 2017, and is for $49,140. The contract also includes four optional one year extensions. If all options are exercised, the contract expiration date would be March 31, 2022 with a total compensation of $260,904. Revenue from this contract is included in the Fire Department's 2017 Adopted Operating Budget (Munis 30110-42110).

Body

The Madison Fire Department contracts to provide fire protection services to the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. A new contract has been awarded with an effective date of April 1, 2017. The one-year contract starting on April1, 2017 is for $49,140. Then contract also includes four option year extensions. If all options are exercised, the contract expiration date would be March 31, 2022 with a total compensation of $260,904. The option year amounts are:

WHEREAS, the City of Madison wishes to continue providing services to the William S.

Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital under a contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs .

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council approves the contract and authorizes the Mayor, Fire Chief and City Clerk to execute all necessary contract documents.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City approval of this contract includes the four option years if awarded by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
