Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution accepts the training agreement with the National Transit Institute and amends the adopted 2017 Metro Transit operating budget to appropriate $50,000 for the costs of the Transit Leadership Training agreement, which is to be fully reimbursed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (80%) and Transit Mutual Insurance Company (20%) Transit Mutual Insurance Company and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation .

WHEREAS there is a need for transit-specific leadership training for managers and supervisors in Wisconsin's transit systems, including Metro Transit; and

WHEREAS the National Transit Institute is the recognized leader in transit-specific educational opportunities; and

WHEREAS funding has been identified through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Transit Mutual Insurance company;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a sole source agreement with the National Transit Institute to provide Transit Leadership Training in Madison for Wisconsin transit systems; and to amend the adopted 2017 Metro Transit operating budget to accept the reimbursement for the costs of the training from WISDOT and Transit Mutual Insurance in the estimated amount of $50,000, which Metro Transit will pay up front.
