Title
Appointing City staff to serve on the Board of Directors of The Center for Industry & Commerce Association, Inc.; and, to serve on The Center for Industry & Commerce Design Review Board.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison assumed ownership of the remaining vacant parcels within The Center for Industry and Commerce (“CIC”) on July 12, 2013; and,
WHEREAS, as part of this transaction, the City of Madison was assigned Declarant rights under The Center for Industry & Commerce Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (“CIC Covenants”); and,
WHEREAS, certain stormwater management and landscape maintenance activities are completed throughout the CIC campus by The Center for Industry & Commerce Owners Association, Inc., (“Association”) as outlined in the CIC Covenants; and,
WHEREAS, the Association is a private corporation governed by three (3) Directors, with the authority to assess all property owners within CIC for Association-related expenses; and,
WHEREAS, as the Declarant for CIC under the CIC Covenants, the City is now responsible for appointing all three (3) Directors to the Association Board of Directors; and,
WHEREAS, building and site plans are reviewed and approved throughout the CIC campus by a 3-member Design Review Board, as outlined in the CIC Covenants; and,
WHEREAS, as the Declarant for CIC under the CIC Covenants, the City is now responsible for appointing all three (3) Design Review Board members; and,
WHEREAS, several staff members appointed to the Association Board of Directors and Design Review Board in 2013 are no longer with the City, thereby requiring that new staff be appointed to these boards.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the current membership of the The Center for Industry & Commerce Owner’s Association, Inc. Board of Directors and Center for Industry & Commerce Design Review Board is terminated; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council appoint the following City staff to serve on The Center for Industry & Commerce Owners Association, Inc. Board of Directors: Maria LoPiccolo, Matthew Mikolajewski, and Thomas Otto (all of the Economic Development Division); and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council appoint the following City staff to serve on the Center for Industry & Commerce Design Review Board: Rebecca Cnare (Planning Division), Ruth Rohlich (Economic Development Division), and Jessica Vaughn (Planning Division); and,
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the aforementioned City staff will be serving on the Association Board of Directors or the Design Review Board in their capacity as employees of the City of Madison.
