Fiscal Note

In the adopted 2016 capital budget Engineering Major Streets has budgeted $5.9 million for the resurfacing of existing streets via the Pavement Management program (MUNIS 10540).  The minor project for the Walter Street and Sargent Street resurfacing is established with sufficient authority for the proposed work in this contract.  Funding is provided by GO Borrowing.


The proposed resolution awards the contract at a total estimated cost of $3,229,490 split amongst the various City agencies as follows:

 

Engineering Major Streets - $939,220

Metro Transit - $2,750

Stormwater Utility - $645,590

Sewer Utility - $889,760

Water Utility - $750,170

BE IT RESOLVED, that the following low bids for miscellaneous improvements be accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the low bidders contained herein, subject to the Contractor's compliance with Section 39.02 of the Madison General Ordinances concerning compliance with the Affirmative Action provisions and subject to the Contractor's compliance with Section 33.07 of the Madison General Ordinances regarding Best Value Contracting:

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funds be encumbered to cover the cost of the projects contained herein.
