Title
Deaccessioning (permanent removal) of original 2 dimensional artwork and reproductions from the City collection.
Body
WHEREAS over time, 2D artwork and reproduction have been purchased or donated to the City; and
WHEREAS staff has deemed it necessary and appropriate to deaccession some of the artwork and reproductions in order to better manage the City collection; and
WHEREAS staff has evaluated the artwork based on information available about its artistic or historical significance; and
WHEREAS whenever possible, appropriate alternative homes for the artwork, such as the State Historical Society or other public institutions, will be thoughtfully considered.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Arts Administrator may remove deaccessioned items from the City’s collection.
