Fiscal Note
The 2016 Adopted Capital Improvement Plan includes $28.855 million for the renovation of the Madison Municipal Building (MUNIS project 10129). In the currently adopted plan, funding for the project is spread across years from 2016 through 2019; the 2016 appropriation for the project is $4.8 million. The proposed resolution seeks to authorize the plan documents to bid for the entire estimated cost of the MMB renovation project which will be contingent on approval of the project’s budget in 2017 capital budget. The estimated cost of the project is $22.5 million for work planned in 2017 through 2019. The project will be fully funded by GO Borrowing.

Title
Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for Madison Municipal Building - Renovation.
Body
WHEREAS, the 2016 Adopted Capital Improvement Plan includes $28.855 million for the renovation of the Madison Municipal Building anticipated occurring from 2016 through 2019; and,
WHEREAS, the 2016 appropriation includes $4.805 million in GO Borrowing for the first phase of the project, the remaining appropriation for the project is contingent upon adoption of the 2017 Capital Budget;
NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED,
1) That the plans and specifications for Madison Municipal Building - Renovation, be and are hereby approved.
2) That the Board of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to advertise and receive bids for said project.
3) That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign and grant easements or right-of-way release or procurement documents, maintenance agreements or encroachment agreements, as necessary and grant or accept dedication of lands and/or easements from/to the Developer/Owner for public improvements located outside of existing public fee title or easement right-of-ways.
