Title

Authorizing the Water Utility General Manager to certify water and sewer bills, assessments, and charges to the 2016 tax rolls of other governmental units for delinquent accounts in those jurisdictions.

Body

WHEREAS, the Madison Water Utility administers the billing system for the City water and sewer utilities, and

WHEREAS, the City water and sewer utilities provide service to customers outside the City of Madison in accordance with Madison General Ordinances Section 13.16(2) and Section 35.02, and

WHEREAS, the City water and sewer utilities are authorized under section 66.0809(3) of Wisconsin Statutes to certify amounts owed in arrears to the utilities to the tax rolls of the appropriate town, village, or city,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council authorizes the Water Utility General Manager to certify the 2015 tax rolls to the towns of Blooming Grove, Burke, Madison, Middleton, and Verona, of the villages of Maple Bluff, McFarland, and Shorewood Hills, and the cities of Fitchburg, Middleton, and Monona any delinquent water or sewer bills, water or sewer main assessment installations, and water and sewer lateral charges.
