Fiscal Note
In the adopted 2016 operating budget Metro Transit has budgeted $50,000 for the anticipated costs of snow removal. The actual cost of service depends upon the severity of winter weather. Charges are on a per incident basis and stimated funds for this agreement will be included in the Metro Transit Operating Budget for each year of the agreement.

Title
Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Deluca & Hartman Construction, Inc. for the removal of snow and ice at the South, East, and West Transfer Points, the North Transfer Point, including the Park and Ride connected with the North Transfer point. This contract will be for the 2016 - 2017, 2017 - 2018, 2018 - 2019 season with two one year options for the City to renew.
Body
WHEREAS the City of Madison needs to have the Transfer Points and Park and Ride cleared of snow and ice in order to operate bus service and help keep customers safe; and
WHEREAS the City does not have the capacity to prioritize Transfer Points and Park and Rides over City streets for snow and ice removal; and
WHEREAS this agreement will significantly lower the costs for this service; and
WHEREAS Deluca & Hartman Construction, Inc. best bid for the life of the agreement among the responsive and responsible bidders;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into a three year agreement for 2016 - 2019 with two one year options for renewal at the City's option for snow and ice removal at the transfer points and the associated park and ride at the North Transfer Point. Estimated funds for this agreement will be included in the Metro Transit Operating Budget for each year of the agreement.
