Fiscal Note
In the adopted 2016 capital budget, Engineering - Major Streets has budgeted for the High Point Road Bridge over the Beltline (MUNIS 10441) in the amount of $1.15 million. The project will replace the existing bridge with a new four lane bridge. Funding for this project is from GO borrowing.
The proposed resolution authorizes the agreement at a cost to the city of $1,492,300.

PREAMBLE
The City of Madison and Wisconsin Department of Transportation entered into an agreement authorized by Resolution File ID 19697, RES-10-00816 for the design and construction of the High Point Road Bridge and Approaches over the West Beltline Highway (USH 12/14).
The bridge is in very poor condition and requires complete removal and replacement.
The bridge reconstruction is funded with both federal (75%) and City (25%) funds.
At the City’s request, the design now includes extension of the bridge to allow the West Towne Mutli-use Path to cross the beltline with the bridge. Additional federal and City funds are required.
Construction is scheduled for 2017. $1,000,000 of budget authority remains in account 10441 as included in the 2016 capital budget, and the remainder will be budgeted for in 2017.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a revised agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for design and construction of the High Point Road Bridge and Approaches over the West Beltline Highway (USH 12/14).
