PREAMBLE

During cleaning of Metro Transit's underground diesel fuel tanks, it was found that there was corrosion that needed to be corrected in order to keep the tanks clean and prevent fuel contamination. Metro is seeking bids for lining of all four (4) of its 15K underground diesel fuel storage tanks, replacement of the above and below ground steel wiring conduit, and wiring associated with the tank pumps, tank monitoring system and impressed current corrosion protection system. In addition, the bid will include relocating sensors in tanks one and two so that they no longer obstruct the man-way covers to which they are currently welded.

Metro will also be seeking bids for on-going cleaning and lining inspection of the tanks during the 10-year warranty period to ensure the tanks remain in good working condition.
