Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an attachment petition to cause approximately 17.05 acres of City-owned property located on the south side of Old Sauk Road east of Pioneer Road to be attached to the City of Madison from the Town of Middleton.
Body
WHEREAS on November 17, 2000 the City acquired title to the 17.05 acre parcel of land located at the southeast corner of the Old Sauk Road and Pioneer Road ("the attachment area") for use as a site for Madison Water Utility facilities, including an elevated water reservoir (water tower); and
WHEREAS the parcel is undeveloped agricultural land; and
WHEREAS the City endeavors to annex or attach properties it owns into its corporate limits whenever practical;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute an attachment petition and all documents related thereto to cause the approximately 17.05 acres to be attached to the City from the Town of Middleton.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Planning and Community and Economic Development is authorized to file the attachment petition with the Town of Middleton and City of Madison Clerk according to the procedures for intermediate attachments in Section 12.01 of the City of Madison and Town of Middleton Cooperative Plan.
