Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a three-year Purchase of Services contract with Mickey’s Linen for linen laundry services. The annual fiscal impact of this resolution is $75,000, which is included in the 2016 Monona Terrace Operating Budget (account no. 80161-54540). The total fiscal impact over the three-year period is $225,000, which will be included in future Monona Terrace operating budgets and funded through Room Tax proceeds.

Body
WHEREAS, funding for linen services is provided for each year as part of the adopted Monona Terrace operating budget; and

WHEREAS, in order to obtain the most economical linen service, it has been the practice of Monona Terrace, to contract for linen services along with Monona Terrace’s caterer, Monona Catering, and

WHEREAS, in recent years, linen services have been provided to Monona Terrace and Monona Catering by Mickey’s Linen, and

WHEREAS, Monona Terrace and Monona Catering have sought proposals from other linen suppliers and have concluded that it would be economical in terms of time and money to continue with Mickey’s Linen, and

WHEREAS, City Purchasing Ordinances provide under Sec. 4.26(1), of the Madison General Ordinances that the Mayor and City Clerk, may enter into contracts on behalf of the City of Madison if the contracts meet the criteria of said ordinance, and

WHEREAS, under Sec. 4.26(4)(a) MGO, the City may enter into negotiated contracts for the purchase of services if a particular consultant has provided services to the City on a similar or continuing project in the recent past, and it would be economical to the City on the basis of time and money to retain the same consultant, and

WHEREAS, the proposed contract with Mickey’s Linen Inc. meets the requirements of Section 4.26(4)(a) 7, MGO, and

WHEREAS, under Sec. 4.26(4)(a) MGO, the City may ...
