Funds for the salary of the Alderperson for District 11 are available in the Commom Council 2016 Operating Budget.
Title
Appointing Tim Gruber as Alderperson for District 11 to serve until the Spring 2017 election.
Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council Organizational Committee met on February 22, 2016 to make a recommendation on the appointment of an Alderperson for District 11 according to the procedures outlined in Madison General Ordinances 2.03; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council Organizational Committee reviewed the resumes submitted and interviewed the applicants; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council Organizational Committee recommends that Tim Gruber be appointed to fill the vacated District 11 aldermanic seat; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council shall appoint and confirm the recommended candidate, or appoint and confirm another candidate among the applicants per MGO 2.03(4),
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Tim Gruber is hereby appointed to the position of Alderperson for District 11 effective March 1, 2016 to serve until an election is held in the spring of 2017 and a qualified District 11 Alderperson is elected and seated on April 4, 2017.
