Title
Recreate a 1.0 FTE position of “Detective” (CG11/11, A001) as a 1.0 FTE “Investigator” position (CG11/11, A003) in the Police Department budget
Body
WHEREAS, the Police Department Computer Forensics Unit is responsible for the investigation, identification, and collection of criminal evidence associated with computer and cell phone technology, and this work has evolved into primarily an evidence detection and collection function best suited to the Investigator position; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department wishes an Investigator to fill a vacancy in the Computer Forensics Unit that was previously assigned to a Detective; and
WHEREAS, all Detective and Investigator positions are in the same Compensation Group 11, Range 11 salary schedule.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a 1.0 FTE position of “Detective” (CG11/11, A001) be deleted and a 1.0 FTE position of “Investigator” (CG11/11, A003) be created in the Police Department budget.
