Total anticipated project cost is $20,000. $15,000 of which has been awarded by the BUILD grant. BUILD grant requires a 25 percent local match on the total project cost. $5,000 local match will be allocated from DPCED, Planning Division’s 2016 Operating Budget.

Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Planning Division will be working with the Darbo Worthington Starkweather Park-Schenk Neighborhoods to prepare a mid-range plan and plan recommendations to improve the quality of life and health of the community (File ID 37360); and

WHEREAS, a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) of the Darbo Worthington Starkweather Park-Schenk Neighborhood Plan will factor health in the decision-making process and evaluate land use, infill development concepts, and transportation recommendations through the health lens; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison has been awarded a Dane County B.U.I.LD (Better Urban Infill Development) Program grant in the amount of $15,000 to conduct a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) for the Darbo Worthington Starkweather Park-Schenk Neighborhood Plan Study Area (See Attached Map 1); and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison will work in collaboration with Public Health - Madison & Dane County staff in the Health Impact Assessment (HIA) process.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Madison hereby accepts the grant for $15,000 from the Dane County B.U.I.L.D Program to perform the Health Impact Assessment (HIA) and authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the grant agreement with Dane County associated with these funds.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the required 25 percent local grant match of $5,000 is secured from the DPCED...
