Title
Amending the 2015 Engineering- Bicycle and Pedestrian Budget and transferring $325,000 from the Goodman Path Capital Project to the Bikeways & Misc. Improvements Capital Project (AD 6 & 15).
Body
The Common Council approved plans and specifications for the Capital City Path Reconstruction and Bridge Replacement on March 17, 2015, ID 37268, RES-15-00229.

The Capital City Path is the primary multi-use (bike and pedestrian) path on Madison's East side, connecting neighborhoods to the Downtown area. The segment from Marquette Street to Dennett Drive is in poor condition with substandard width.  The 8-foot  clear width on the existing bridge does not meet current minimum standards and the existing wood plank deck requires frequent maintenance.

The public works contract was advertised and 7 bids were received.  The project came in over estimate and additional funds are required.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 2015 Engineering- Bicycle and Pedestrian Capital Budget is hereby amended to increase the Budget Authority in the Bikeways & Misc. Improvements, Project #1 by $325,000.
