Title
Reclassification of four (4) Street and Sewer Machine Operator 1 positions (#TBD) in the Engineering Division to Street and Sewer Machine Operator 2, to be posted for internal competition. Upon filling, the underlying vacancies will be deleted.

Body
City Engineering has determined that increased maintenance responsibilities warrant more staff use of methods and equipment consistent with the skills of an Operator 2. These maintenance needs are in areas of snow removal, greenway maintenance and asphalt patching. This reclassification will also fill the need for increased tree removals on Storm Utility properties, as related to the Emerald Ash Borer. Four (4) Street and Sewer Machine Operator 1 positions (position #s to be determined based on an internal competitive process) in Compensation Group 15, Range 4 in the permanent salary detail of the Engineering Division’s budget shall be repealed and recreated as Street and Sewer Machine Operator 2 positions in Compensation Group 15, Range 5, upon completion of an internal competitive process.

Now Therefore Be it resolved, that four (4) Street and Sewer Machine Operator 1 positions in the Engineering Division be reclassified to Street and Sewer Machine Operator 2 positions.
