This resolution amends the 2014 Planning Division Operating Budget by increasing expenditures and revenues by $6,000. There is no net impact on the levy.

The 2014 adopted operating budget of the Planning Division will be amended as follows:

$6,000 GN01-54969-222000 Increase Expenditures for Art and Performance Contracts
($6,000) GN01-78540-222000 Increase Revenues from Private Contributions

Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council passed Pavement Painting Charter Ordinance #30051 on June 18, 2013, allowing decorative painting on pavement; and

WHEREAS, at their June 11, 2013 meeting, the Madison Arts Commission voted to allocate $10,000 from the Municipal Art Fund to seed the creation of four pavement painting projects in neighborhoods throughout Madison; and

WHEREAS, four neighborhood associations or planning councils have been selected to lead pilot projects in their neighborhoods, including Northside Planning Council, Allied Dunn's Marsh Neighborhood Association, Leopold and Arbor Hills Neighborhood Associations (joint application), and Meadowood Neighborhood Association; and

WHEREAS, US Cellular has offered to contribute $6,000 to the City for this pilot pavement painting project to help offset expenses for refreshments, artist fees, and supplies; and

WHEREAS, Hallman Lindsay has offered to donate up to 200 gallons of traffic paint for the pilot pavement painting project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council authorizes the Madison Arts Program Administrator to administer this pilot pavement painting project.
