Fiscal Note
The estimated additional cost for the double-filling of the Metro Transit Operations Manager is $15,000 for salary expense, plus $5,985 for fringe benefit expense, or a total expense of $20,985. Metro Transit will manage its 2014 salary savings to accommodate the additional expense within its adopted budget appropriations.

Body
WHEREAS, Richard Buss is retiring from City of Madison employment effective January 2, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Madison Metro has requested the authorization to double-fill the position held by Mr. Buss in order to ensure an orderly transition, and
WHEREAS, Madison Metro intends to recruit to fill the position on or about October 13, 2014 in order to allow the selected candidate time to work with Mr. Buss to learn the position, and
WHEREAS, the double-fill will exceed thirty (30) days;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Madison Metro is authorized to double-fill the position of Transit Operations Manager from October 13, 2014 through January 2, 2015, or Mr. Buss's final date on the payroll, whichever is later.
