Fiscal Note
It is anticipated that the new contract will result in lowered processing fees for recyclable materials. Projected savings will be included in the 2015 and subsequent year Streets Division Operating Budgets as appropriate. Actual savings will depend upon the provisions negotiated in the final version of the contract extension. No appropriation is required.

Authorizing the Streets Division to extend the contract for recycling processing with Pellitteri Waste Systems until December 31, 2021 as allowed under the current contract.
Body
WHEREAS, Pellitteri Waste Systems has provided recycling processing services for the City of Madison since 2012 under a five-year contract which contained the options for two, two-year expensions, and;
WHEREAS, Pellitteri Waste Systems has done an outstanding job of processing the recyclables from the City of Madison meeting all terms and conditions of the contract, and;
WHEREAS, Pellitteri Waste Systems has requested that the contract extension options be exercised so it can enter into agreements with other parties needing recycling processing services in the Madison area. These contracts will require Pellitteri Waste Systems to start a second shift and that this will result in the creation of additional jobs in the City of Madison, and;
WHEREAS, Pellitteri Waste Systems has proposed reducing the fees that are charged to the City of Madison as part of the contract extension and that those fee reductions will save the Streets Division an estimated $515,000 and $705,000 over the next seven and one half years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Streets Division is authorized to exptend the recycling processing contract with Pellitteri Waste Systems until December 31, 2021.
