Fiscal Note
This resolution provides for an amendment to the 2014 adopted capital budget of the Traffic Engineering agency, Project number 3, "Public Safety Radio System," Acc't No. 810414. The amendment provides for an additional $105,000 in General Obligation borrowing and expenditure authority to purchase three emergency dispatch consoles. The estimated additional annual debt service over the ten-year payback period is $12,309, which will be borne by the Traffic Engineering annual operating budget. The 2014 adopted capital budget of Traffic Engineering will be amended as follows:

Body
WHEREAS, the purchase of these emergency dispatch consoles are essential to maintain interoperability between City of Madison first responders and the Dane County Public Safety (911) Center; and
WHEREAS, Dane County Public Safety (911) Center has only recently made the City aware of the need of these additional consoles to safely and effectively dispatch City of Madison first responders from its emergency communications system;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council approves amending the 2014 adopted Capital Budget of Traffic Engineering to authorize an additional $105,000 in GO borrowing and expenditure authority to purchase three emergency dispatch consoles.
