Fiscal Note
This resolution will authorize a three year contract with two one-year options that provide for the reimbursement by Madison College for access by Madison College students to Metro Transit fixed route and ADA paratransit service. Anticipated revenue of $618,000 is included in the 2014 Metro Transit adopted operating budget. It is anticipated the same amount will be included in the 2015 budget. Estimated amounts will be included in the operating budget each year of the contract. Fixed route rides will be billed at $1.15 for the 2014-2015 academic year and at the rate in the Fare Tariff at the time the ride is taken in subsequent years of the contract with a minimum and maxiumum of +/- 8% of the previous year's actual ridership. ADA paratransit rides will be billed at the rate in the Fare Tariff at the time the ride is taken.

WHEREAS, Madison College and Metro Transit have had a successful and productive contracting agreement fr an unlimited ride pass program for Madison College students for years, and both parties wish to extend their agreement; and
WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated specifications which meet all Transit and Parking Commission criteria set in advance for ride pass programs;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement with Madison Area Technical College for the purpose of providing a student unlimited ride pass program for the three year term of the agreement with two one-year options with reimbursement by Madison College to the Transit Utility for student trips during academic years 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017 (and 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 with the option years...
