Amending Res-13-00639, Legistar No. 30748 to change the composition of the Sustainable Madison Transportation Master Plan Oversight Committee (see also Res-12-00648, Legistar No. 27220 - creating committee) to include an appointment by the Dane County Executive and a member of the Sustainable Madison Committee.
Body
WHEREAS, on August 6, 2013 the Common Council adopted RES-13-00639, Legistar No. 30748 amending the composition of the Sustainable Madison Transportation Master Plan Oversight Committee; and,

WHEREAS, the current membership of the Sustainable Madison Transportation Master Plan Oversight Committee now consists of four (4) Common Council members and seven (7) citizen members; and,

WHEREAS, the primary mission of developing a Transportation Master Plan is to inform Madison officials about the community’s need for a more walkable, bikeable and transit-oriented city, and to describe all elements of the City’s transportation system; and,

WHEREAS, traffic from non-Madison Dane County residents will continue to be a substantial component of the City of Madison transportation system; and,

WHEREAS, the transportation systems of the County and City are linked and that changes in one part of the system has direct effects on other parts; and,

WHEREAS, open communication and information exchange between the City and County is integral to the most effective and comprehensive assessment and planning of a future system that effectively serves all jurisdictions; and,

WHEREAS, the purpose of the Sustainable Madison Committee is to “promote sustainability for the City of Madison, the region and the Madison community” and that transportation systems have a major impact on land-use and energy conservation,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the adopted resolution is amended to include an additional Dane County member to be appointed by the Dane County Executive and a member of the Sustainable Madison Committee to the ...
