The Citizen Advisory Process includes the establishment of a budget amount for public outreach for each project. The actual amount would depend on the project and would generally range from $5,000 to $25,000 per project year.

Approving a revised Citizen Advisory Process for the Madison Water Utility (Citywide).
Body
Whereas, in 2008 the Water Utility Board and Common Council approved a Public Participation Standard Operating Procedure for Water Utility Facilities; and
Whereas, the Madison Water Utility has implemented this procedure over the last five years; and
Whereas, in 2012, a Public Participation Advisory was presented to the Water Utility Board by Citizen Advisory Panel members at the conclusion of the East Side Water Supply Project; and
Whereas, at the direction of the Water Utility Board, Madison Water Utility staff has drafted a revised process with the goals of building on the success of the existing plan, broadening the scope to include system-wide initiatives and policy changes, and increasing participation; and
Whereas, a Public Participation Survey was widely distributed in December 2013 and the results were used to revise the draft process;
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Water Utility Board and Common Council approves the revised Citizen Advisory Process for the Water Utility.
