Fiscal Note
The total audit contract for all related reporting entities (General Government, CDA, Single Audit, Water, Transit, TIFs and Public Health) for fiscal year 2014 will be $196,900 with percentage increases of about 1.5% for 2015 and 1.7% for 2016. Funding for the first year of this contract will be included in the 2015 operating budget. A maximum percentage increase of 1.5% is applicable for the optional extension years of 2017 and 2018. The total actual costs for independent external audit services for fiscal year 2013 are expected to be approximately $245,000.

Body
WHEREAS, the existing contract for independent external audit services expires during 2014, and

WHEREAS, the City participated in a bidding process to solicit proposals under RFP 8304 issued October 4, 2013 for professional auditing services where five Wisconsin accounting firms were mailed the RFP. An additional 223 vendors were notified by www.DemandStar.com, and 246 vendors were notified via Vendornet.state.wi.us, the City’s bid distribution services. Two proposals were received thereto, and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the RFP above, an evaluation team made up of 5 city staff evaluated the proposals, considering factors such as independence, licensing to practice in Wisconsin, technical quality and experience, specific audit approach, and cost of service, and

WHEREAS, based upon the scoring criteria considering all of the above factors, the evaluation team recommended that it is in the best interests of the City to award the contract for independent external audit services to Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign on behalf of ...
