Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to accept a grant from the Wisconsin State Energy Office/Clean Energy Investments Program supporting a pilot project designed to build a feedstock supply chain with business and institutional partners for the planned anaerobic digester, and amending the 2014 Streets Division Operating Budget.
Body
WHEREAS, The City of Madison will be expanding its successful organics composting pilot program in July, 2014, and
 
WHEREAS, the participation of restaurants and grocery stores will be a crucial element in the success of a citywide program, and,
 
WHEREAS, The Wisconsin State Energy Office is willing to provide the City of Madison with a grant of $8,000 to assist our efforts to recruit and provide service to restaurants and grocery stores who want to participate in the pilot program, and
 
WHEREAS, the matching fund requirements of the grant can be met within the Streets Division's Operating Budget, and
 
WHEREAS, P Squared Consulting has been working with the Streets Division on outreach and support to commercial establishments currently participating in the program,
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to accept the grant from the Wisconsin State Energy Office; and
 
BE FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Streets Division is authorized to contract with P Squared Consulting who will recruit commercial establishments to participate in the pilot; will provide training and troubleshooting to participants during the pilot; and, will develop educational materials for future outreach efforts.
