Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for the Annual Construction and Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalk and Incidental Concrete Curb and Gutter Work Ordered (Districts 11 and 19) by the Common Council.
Body
PREAMBLE

The Common Council adopted a plan in 1996 to repair defective sidewalk throughout the City on a ten-year cycle.  The plan was updated in 2002 and 2012 to reflect the completed work and to incorporate the reconstituted aldermanic districts.  The 11th and 19th Aldermanic Districts have been scheduled for repair in 2014.

Offset, settled or badly cracked sidewalk sections are replaced with this program, the City and the abutting property owner each paying one half of the cost.  The program is also used to install curb ramps at intersections.  Curb ramps are funded solely by the City.

NOW THERFOR BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specifications for the Annual Construction and Reconstruction of Concrete Sidewalk and Incidental Concrete Curb and Gutter Work Ordered (Districts 11 and 19) by the Common Council be and are hereby approved:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to advertise for and receive bids for the required public works contract.
