I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments.  Committee applications for mayoral appointments are attached.  Statement of Interest forms are on file for these appointees where applicable.
 
 
ADA TRANSIT SUBCOMMITTEE TO THE TRANSIT AND PARKING COMMISSION
 
MARY E. JACOBS (19th A.D.) - reappoint to a two-year term to the position of Vocational Support Representative.  Ms. Jacobs is being reappointed beyond 10 years because she is the only candidate who meets the specific criteria required for this position.  First Appointed 2-15-1996.

EVANS (9th A.D.) - appoint to a one-year term to the position of Citizen Member.  Mr. Evans is the retired IT Director for the Madison Metropolitan School District.  He is the Past-President of the Wisconsin Society of Certified Public Managers and in 2007 served as the Chair of the National Conference of the American Association of Certified Public Managers.

ERIK S. PAULSON (2nd A.D.) - appoint to a one-year term to the position of Citizen Member.  Mr. Paulson is a Computer Science Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He previously served on the UW's Information Technology Committee and assisted in establishing the Student Information Technology Initiative Advisory Committee.

LAUREN N. BENSON (12th A.D.) - appoint to a one-year term to the position of Citizen Member.  Ms. Benson is a Technical Consultant with DANEnet.  She has volunteered with the Literacy Network, Dane County Farmers' Market and Big Brothers Big Sisters, among others.

ASHE DRYDEN (6th A.D.) - appoint to a two-year term to the position of Citizen Member. Ms. Dryden is the owner of Ashe Dryden Development, LLC.  She is a web developer and has 13 years of experience as a programmer.  In addition, she is an advocate for diversity in technology.

BRADLEY J. GRZESIAK (13th A.D.) - appoint to a three-year term to the position of Citizen Member.  Mr. Grzesiak is a co-founder and principal of software consulting firm Bendyworks, Inc. In addition, he is the founder and chairman of a technology advocacy non-profit called Madisonium.

TERESA Q. HOLMES (1st A.D.) - appoint to a three-year term to the position of Citizen Member.  Ms. Holmes is the owner of technology consulting firm TH Project Consulting.  In addition, she is active with several community organizations, including Madison Links Service Organization and the League of Women Voters.

EMERSON EAST-EKEN PARK-YAHARA NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE
 
ARTHUR M. HACKETT (12th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Eken Park Neighborhood Resident.  Mr. Hackett serves as the chair of the Eken Park Neighborhood Association and has been a homeowner in the neighborhood for the past 32 years.
 
KEELY M. MERCHANT (12th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Eken Park Neighborhood Resident. Ms. Merchant is an active member of the Eken Park Neighborhood Association.
 
AMY L. KLUSMEIER (6th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Eken Park Neighborhood Resident.  Ms. Klusmeier has a Masters of Science from UW-Madison in Urban and Regional Planning.
 
ADRIENNE L. SELLA (12th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Emerson East Neighborhood Resident.  Ms. Sella is the Area 2 representative for the Emerson East Neighborhood Association.  
 
DAVID A. ALBINO (12th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Emerson East Neighborhood Resident.  Mr. Albino is a UW-Madison Urban and Regional Planning Masters student and Chairman of Wisconsin Student Planning Association.

DOUGLAS BUEGE (2nd A.D.) - appoint to the position of Yahara Area Resident.  Mr. Buege is a long-term resident of Sherman Terrace Condominiums and a community volunteer.
 
AARON E. ONSRUD (2nd A.D.) - appoint to the position of Yahara Area Resident.  Mr. Onsrud has experience as an elected official in another Wisconsin municipality and as such has served on numerous committees including Community Development and Housing Authority.
 
DANIEL S. GRUBB (12th A.D.) - appoint to the position of Business Representative.  Mr. Grubb is a long-time employee of a large business in the planning area.  
 
 
EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES COMMISSION
 
MORIAH N. GRACE (6th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident.  Ms. Grace is a Independent Living Specialist with Access to Independence.  She has advocated for people with disabilites on issues such as transportation, funding for mental health services, Medicaid services and long-term care/integrated care priorities.  Ms. Grace succeeds Brandon M. Johnson.

RICHARD P. TVEDT (15th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Citizen Member.  Mr. Tvedt is the Executive Director of the Madison Area Music Association and has served in this position for the past 11 years.  In addition, he is the owner of Local Sounds Magazine.
