Create a permanent position of Management Information Specialist 3 in the permanent salary detail of the Fire Department budget and, upon retirement of Richard Riphon, delete position #2191 of Fire Inspector.

Body
Whereas on May 22, 2013, the Common Council passed a resolution (legislative file #29888) authorizing the creation of an MIS3 position in the Fire Department budget upon retirement of employee R. Riphon, and

Whereas it was originally anticipated that Mr. Riphon would retire on or about August 6, 2013, and

Whereas Mr. Riphon has not yet retired, and

Whereas the Fire Department has the need to recruit for and hire an MIS3 immediately, and

Whereas the Fire Department has other salary savings that can fund the MIS3 position without incurring additional cost to the budget,

Therefore be it resolved that a permanent position of MIS3 is immediately created in the permanent salary detail of the Fire Department budget, and that upon retirement of Mr. Riphon, position #2191 of Fire Inspector is deleted, thereof.
