Authorizing the execution of an Underground Electric Line Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of the Central Park, located at 202 South Ingersoll Street.
Body
WHEREAS, the City Engineering and Parks Divisions are constructing Phase 1 of the Central Park project on a 25-acre parcel located between South Brearly Street on the west and South Baldwin Street on the east, including a pavilion and shelter building located along South Ingersoll Street, at 202 South Ingersoll Street; and

WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company (“MG&E”) was asked to install underground electric service to serve the pavilion and shelter building, and therefore have requested an underground electric line easement, across a portion of Central Park, for their underground electric line facilities; and

WHEREAS, City of Madison Engineering and Parks Divisions and Office of Real Estate Services staff have reviewed and approve of the granting of said easement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Line Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of the Central Park property, legally described as follows:

A strip of land, ten (10) feet in width, located in part of Block 173, Original Town of Madison Plat, lying in part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 13, Town 7 North, Range 9 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, the centerline of said strip being more particularly described as follows:

The right of way shall be located five (5) feet on the right side and five (5) feet on the left side of the centerline of MG&E’s facilities as constructed. The facilities will be located approximately as set forth in the drawing attached hereto as Exhibit A and dated September 25, 2013.

This easement supersedes and is granted in substitution for an Underground Electric Easement dated November 3, 2008, and recorded February 6, 2009...
