Fiscal Note

The fiscal impact will be approximately $1980.00 based on 7,923 number of rides taken for this program February through June 2013.

Title

Authorizing Metro Transit to refund 25 cents per ride to the Dane County Veterans Service Office for their disabled veterans pass program from the program inception through when they began paying $1.00 per ride.

Body

WHEREAS, Metro Transit entered into a Commute Card agreement with the Dane County Veterans Service Office executed on March 6, 2013 which stated that the Dane County Veterans Service Office would reimburse Metro Transit $1.25 for each ride taken by its users on this program; and

WHEREAS, the Dane County Veterans Service Office verifies that all of its participants in the pass program meet Metro Transit's criteria for riders with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, other fare media for riders who meet the critera as persons with disabilities pay $1.00 per ride; and

WHEREAS, Metro Transit is in the process of creating a Specialized Commute Card for which the per ride price will be equal to the per ride charge for other fare media for riders who are senior or disabled for groups exclusively with participants who meet that criteria; and

WHEREAS, the Dane County Veterans Service Office has requested this refund;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Metro Transit is authorized to refund approximately $1980.00 to the Dane County Veterans Service Office.
