License revenues of an estimated $30,000 have been included in the 2013 operating budget as part of the General Fund/Miscellaneous Licenses revenues administered by the City Clerk.

Relating to 2013-2015 Taxicab Operators' License Renewals, pursuant to Section 11.06, Madison General Ordinances.
Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 11.06, Madison General Ordinances, the following firms have applied for renewals of their taxicab operator licenses and permits, effective July 1, 2013:
Affiliated Carriage Systems, Inc., dba Madison Taxi, requesting 47 taxicab meter permits and 3 airport shuttle taxicab permits
Badger Bus Lines, Inc., requesting 47 flat rate permits
Badger Cab Company, Inc., requesting 43 zone taxicab permits
Green Cab of Madison Incorporated, 34 zone taxicab permit
Transit Solutions, Inc., requesting 28 flat rate permits;
Union Cab of Madison Cooperative, Inc., requesting 73 taxicab meter permits
WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineer has provided the Transit and Parking Commission with an investigative report on the applications and a recommendation to grant the licenses;
WHEREAS, the Common Council recommends that the following actions be taken with respect to the above applications for licenses:
1. Approval of the application for license to operate taxicabs by Affiliated Carriage System, Inc., dba Madison Taxi (1403 Gilson Street) for 50 permits.
2. Approval of the application for license to operate taxicabs by Badger Bus Lines, Inc. (5501 Femrite Dr.) for 47 permits.
3. Approval of the application for license to operate taxicabs by Badger Cab Company, Inc. (700 Cottage
Grove Rd.) for 43 permits.
4. Approval of the application for license to operate taxicabs by Green Cab of Madison Incorporated (1621 Beld St) for 34 permits.
5. Approval of the application for license to operate taxicabs by Transit Solutions, Inc. (416 S. Main Street, Deforest, WI 53532) for 28 permits.
6. Approval of the application for license to operate taxicabs by Union Cab of Madison Cooperative, Inc.
(2458 Pennsylvania Avenue) for 73 permits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following licenses are issued, subject to the provisions and conditions as stated above and the ordinances of the City of Madison:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be instructed to issue the licenses authorized by this resolution upon the filing of liability insurance as required by the Madison General Ordinances, upon filing of a schedule of fares applying to each license so granted as required by said ordinance, upon registering with the City Clerk the identity of the owner of such licensed cabs, and upon meeting the conditions as set forth above.
