Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for Contract #7044 - Breese Stevens Field Lighting/Sound System Improvements

The Parks Division is requesting permission to advertise and receive bids for improvements to the lighting system and the purchase and installation of a public address system for Breese Stevens Field. The lighting system improvements include the removal and replacement of the three remaining truss/ladder light poles with metal poles to match the poles replaced in previous contracts, as well as the removal/replacement of all of the fixtures. The new fixtures will cut down the amount of trespass light outside the facility by 70% and will be 50% more efficient that the existing lighting system. Also included in this contract will be new electrical distribution system to each pole.
Presently there is no public address system at Breese Stevens Field. We hired a consultant to work with us and our user groups to pick out a system that will work for Breese Stevens Field now and into the future. This contract will require the successful bidder to purchase and install the system complete.
