Declaring the week of April 14 - 20, 2013 as "National Telecommunicators Week".
Body
WHEREAS, telecommunicators daily serve citizens of Dane County, and the City of Madison, as the first and vital link connecting the public to the providers of emergency services they so urgently need; and,
WHEREAS, telecommunicators precisely and efficiently obtain information from citizens, often under tragic or horrific situations, and accurately relay that crucial information to emergency service providers; and,
WHEREAS, telecommunicators serve as a lifeline by monitoring the activities of emergency services providers in the field, and by providing life-saving instructions directly to callers at emergency scenes, they enable callers to perform CCR, deliver babies, and other life-saving activities; and,
WHEREAS, telecommunicators perform their work with professionalism and compassion, responding to calls every hour of every day; and,
WHEREAS, telecommunicators play a crucial role in the protection and safety of the citizens of Dane County and the City of Madison,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor and Common Council in recognition of the vital contributions telecommunicators make to the safety and well-being of our citizens, do hereby declare the week of April 14 - 20, 2013 as "NATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK" and commend Dane County's telecommunicators for a job well done.
