This Resolution is to amend Metro's 2013 Operating Budget to reflect fare and service changes during 2013. Changes to targeted items on the fare tariff will go into effect on February 3, 2013. Verona service changes will go into effect in early March 2013. Other service changes will go into effect in early September 2013. The Metro Transit Operating Budget will be amended to provide an additional $135,000 in expenditure authority, fully offset by $135,000 in anticipated additional revenues. There will be no net impact to the 2013 Operating Budget.

Body
Metro's 2013 Operating Budget was approved by the Common Council with no fare changes and limited service changes focusing on the Owl Creek Neighborhood. Subsequently, the Transit and Parking Commission approved targeted fare adjustments in order to generate funds to be used for service enhancements to address chronic scheduling and overcrowding issues on existing routes in addition to the service to Owl Creek. At the same time, Epic Systems Corporation in conjunction with the City of Verona requested increased service.

WHEREAS, the Transit and Parking Commission approved targeted fare changes at their December 12, 2012 meeting; and

WHEREAS, Metro Transit has a need to address chronic scheduling and overcrowding issues on existing routes; and

WHEREAS, the City of Verona and Epic Systems Corporation have requested additional bus service; and

WHEREAS, the approved fare adjustments and upcoming service changes need to be reflected in Metro Transit's 2013 Operating Budget;
