Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City officials to enter into an agreement with the State of Wisconsin for modification of traffic signals owned by the City of Madison, City of Monona, and Dane County.
Body
Whereas, the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WiDOT) is repairing bridges on the beltline highway and diverted traffic is expected to impact locally owned roads;

Whereas, the City will upgrade the existing signal control equipment on the Broadway-County BW corridor to help manage the diverted traffic, with WiDOT paying the full cost of materials and labor; and

Whereas, the agreement requires that the City indemnify WiDOT. City APM 1-1 requires Common Council approval whenever the City indemnifies another party, and the work under this contract carries low risk and benefits the general public.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and other City officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the State.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council approves indemnification of WiDOT under this agreement.
