The actual cost of the service depends upon the severity of winter weather. The Parking Utility's 2012 Operating Budget includes $170,000 for this service. The 2013 Operating Budget includes $170,000. Charges are on a per incident basis.

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Tom's Bobcat and Concrete Removal, LLC for snow removal services at Parking Utility facilities. This contract will be for year 2013, with two one-year options for renewal by mutual agreement of the Parties.
Body
WHEREAS the City of Madison Parking Utility needs to have its parking facilities cleared of snow and ice in order to operate its parking facilities and to keep customers safe; and
WHEREAS the Parking Utility has historically enlisted the services of snow removal contractors who perform snow removal services efficiently;
WHEREAS the current contract for snow removal services is due to expire at the end of 2012; and
WHEREAS a Request for Proposals for Parking Utility services was issued in August of 2012; and
WHEREAS, two proposals were received; and
WHEREAS, Tom's Bobcat and Concrete Removal, LLC was the most responsive and responsible bidder;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement for year 2013 with Tom's Bobcat and Concrete Removal, LLC, with two one-year options for renewal by mutual agreement of the Parties for snow and ice removal at Parking Utility facilities. Estimated funds for this Agreement will be included in the Parking Utility Operating budget for each year of the Agreement.
