Color Me Rad, Inc. requesting permission for the use of Quann Park on Saturday, October 13, 2012, 9:30am to 1:00pm for Color Me Rad 5K.

Note: The start/finish of this route is on Willow Island. Color Me Rad was initially told by Alliant Energy Center that the entire 5K could be on Alliant property. They didn’t learn until the middle of September that this was not the case. At that time they were required to work with the City to obtain a number of permits - Street Use, Parade and Park Events. Color Me Rad has an excellent reputation of working responsibly with municipalities across the country putting on fun and safe events. We expect that this will become an annual event in Madison.

Staff recommends approval of the event, based on the group’s agreement to the following conditions:
1) Aldermanic notification - completed
2) Sponsor will review all site plans with Chris Pedretti, Community Services Manager, and agrees to comply with any and all site recommendations made by him.
3) Sponsor will submit a certificate of insurance covering this event and naming the City of Madison as “additional insured.” - completed
4) Sponsor will file for a Street Use permit. - completed
5) Sponsor will file a Parade Permit with the Madison Police Department. - completed
6) Event organizer shall submit an event site map showing the the final run/walk routes, and any other park plans. - completed
7) Color Me Rad will post the closure in park kiosks as directed by Park staff.
8) Event staff will staff the gates of Quann park. They will be opened no sooner than 30 minutes prior to the race and closed immediately upon the last runner passing through the park.
9) Event organizer is responsible for clean-up of event area. All color and equipment will be removed as soon as possible after the event. The park will be reopened to the public no lat...
