Title
Granting the Fire Chief the authority to negotiate with other jurisdictions in Dane County on agreements for fire and emergency medical services, fire plan review services and other fire prevention services.
Body
The City periodically receives requests for cost proposals to provide Fire Department services to jurisdictions within Dane County. The Fire Chief has the responsibility for determining whether the requested services can be provided without an adverse impact on the citizens of the City of Madison. It is proposed that the Fire Chief negotiate these agreements with interested jurisdictions. Any proposed contract would require the City Attorney, Risk Manager and Finance Director to review, finalize and approve the contract to be submitted to the City Council for approval.
