Title
Approving a contract with the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Authority for Fire paramedic training.
Body
The City has finalized an agreement with the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Authority to conduct initial paramedic training, remedial education and Paramedic 2 (preceptor) training. This agreement is effective on September 1, 2012 and has a contract term of three years. Upon expiration of the contract term, the agreement will continue to in force for another three years unless terminated by the City. The Fire Chief is authorized to provide written notice of termination as defined in the agreement.
Funding for this training is included in the 2012 operating budget.
WHEREAS, the City of Fire Department provides emergency medical response services to the City which includes staffing ambulances with licensed paramedic trained employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Council approve the agreement with University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Authority for paramedic training and remedial education.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Clerk and Fire Chief are authorized to sign the contract.
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Fire Chief has authority to terminate this contract as stated in termination clauses of this agreement.
