The parking agreement with Bethel Lutheran Church authorized by this resolution is estimated to generate payments of approximately $21,000 per year. This agreement represents an alternative revenue collection mechanism and would result primarily in improved customer convenience rather than increased revenue. No significant budgetary impact.

Approving a Parking agreement between the City of Madison (Parking Utility) and Bethel Lutheran Church, and authorizing the Mayor and the Clerk to sign the agreement.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parking Utility has had an agreement with Bethel Lutheran Church for the past several years to pay the cost of all vehicles parking in the State Street Capitol Ramp during the Sunday morning church hours; and
WHEREAS, this agreement has recently expired and the Parking Utility wishes to renew it with some adjustments to the hours; and
WHEREAS, the Parking Utility invoices Bethel for the cost of all vehicles that park and exit prior to the end time, and Bethel pays the fees, and Parking Utility considers this arrangement to be feasible; and
WHEREAS, the Parking Utility wishes to renew this Agreement with Bethel for a period of one year with automatic, one-year renewal periods thereafter unless either party terminates the Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Parking Utility Operations Manager is authorized to negotiate and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign agreement(s) on behalf of the City with Bethel Lutheran Church, as described above.
