PREAMBLE
The City is proposing to relocate sanitary sewer and water main with the WisDOT's Verona Road project. The proposed interchange expansion will lead to the relocation of several roads. 9,800 feet of water main and 5,500 feet of sanitary sewer main will need to be relocated with the Verona Road project. The consultant's services will include sanitary sewer and water main design and preparation of plans and specifications.
The City Engineer recommends the design engineering contract be awarded to Strand Associates. Strand is already under contract with the WisDOT to design the interchange street improvements. Given the extent of proposed street and utility work, Strand was selected to prevent any setbacks in the design process.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Strand Associates for design engineering services for the design of sanitary sewer and water main for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDot) Verona Road Project I.D. 1206-07-78.
