Amending Section 9.13(5)(d)7. of the Madison General Ordinances to change the maximum sidewalk café entrance width from 5 feet to 6 feet.

Body

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS:  This ordinance changes the maximum width of a sidewalk café entrance from 5 feet to 6 feet wide.  This ordinance should be considered at the same time as the companion resolution, Legistar #26579, making the identical change to the Regulations Governing Vending on the State Street Mall/Capitol Concourse.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:

      Paragraph 7. of Subdivision (d) entitled "Café Placement and Dimensions" of Subsection (5) entitled "Citywide (Non-Mall/Concourse) Sidewalk Cafe Licenses" of Section 9.13 entitled "License For Selling on Public Streets" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:

"7.      shall have at least one (1) unobstructed entrance of at least three feet (3') and not more than fivesix feet (56') in width, the position of which allows sufficient access to the public entrance to/egress from the restaurant."
