Preamble
 
The City of Madison requires a temporary limited easement from West Washington Associates LLC for the installation of protective coverings on a portion of the roof of the property located at 222 West Washington Avenue and the movement of mobile cranes, construction equipment and construction materials in the air rights above the Property during the construction of the Madison Central Public Library.
 
West Washington Associates LLC is concerned about the view from their property and have requested design changes to the exterior south facing wall of the Madison Central Public Library which abuts the Property which would improve that view.  West Washington Associates LLC has indicated that they would execute a temporary limited easement if the changes to the south facing wall are incorporated into the design of the library.  
      
The estimated cost of the required changes to the building plans is estimated at between $45,000 and $60,000.  
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the revised plans and specifications for the south facing wall of the Madison Central Public Library are hereby approved,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a change order to effect the design changes for the south facing exterior wall of the Madison Central Public Library, and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City of Madison Office of Real Estate Services of the Community and Economic Development Division and the City Attorney are hereby authorized to execute all documents required to obtain necessary easements.
