Title
Authorizing the execution of an Underground Gas Main Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of Yahara Parkway, located at 101 North Thornton Avenue.
Body
WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company ("MG&E") has existing underground gas main facilities located in Burr Jones Field at 1818 East Washington Avenue, adjacent to the Yahara Parkway; and
WHEREAS, MG&E is upgrading the gas main facilities in the area, including the existing underground gas main that is located in the aforementioned Burr Jones Field; and
WHEREAS, MG&E has requested a new underground gas main easement, across a portion of Yahara Parkway, for the purposes of upgrading the existing underground gas main facilities in the area; and
WHEREAS, the new MG&E underground gas main will be installed by use of directional drilling, thereby avoiding potential soil disruption in the Yahara Parkway and adjacent to the Yahara River shoreline, at 101 North Thornton Avenue; and
WHEREAS, City of Madison Parks Division, Engineering Division and Office of Real Estate Services staff has reviewed and approve of the granting of such easement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Gas Main Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of Yahara Parkway, legally described as follows:
A strip of land, ten (10) feet in width, being located in Yahara Parkway, being part of the Original Plat of the City of Madison as located in the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 7, Town 7 North, Range 10 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, the centerline of said strip being more particularly described as follows:
The easement area shall be located five (5) feet on the right side and five (5) feet on the left side of the centerline of the MG&E facilities as constructed. The facilities will be located approximately as set forth in the drawing attached hereto as Exhibit A and dated January 27, 2012.
